So random, but the majority of the Securities staff truly love the arts and such. For instance, ‘Cupcake’ from the 2009 reboot spends his shore leave writing poetry. 

In Star Trek (2009) canon, Uhura likes cats and Gaila (her Orion roommate) loves dogs.

This matches their romantic preferences, as well - Gaila goes for cocky but enthusiastic Jim Kirk, while Uhura goes for pointy eared and reticent (but secretly cuddly) Spock.

He just really, really, hates pretty much everyone, (with the only possible exceptions being Jim and Bones, and then only sometimes) and is doing his best not to act upon it.

General Theory of Deanna Troi’s Wandering Accent:

Having been raised mainly on Betazed but as a child of two cultures, Deanna speaks excellent but somewhat formal English, but with a strong accent. When we hear her accent in the earlier seasons, she’s speaking English.

Later on, for whatever reason, she decides to speak in her native Betazoid tongue, in which she can express herself more freely and colloquially. The Universal Translator renders this as the neutral accent we hear in the later seasons - just like the way most aliens on the show seem to be speaking in a neutral American-ish accent when heard through the Universal Translator.

Special Theory of Deanna Troi’s Wandering Accent:

This even explains Lwaxana’s comments about how Deanna’s accent reminds her of Deanna’s father. She isn’t talking about the same accent we hear. When the Trois are in conversation together, they naturally speak Betazoid, and Deanna’s spoken Betazoid has a hint of her father’s human accent.

I have no intention of getting stuck here eating palukoos.

I love how whenever she gets to wear mufti, Jadzia goes for purple - her party dress, her Adventure Outfit here, her swimming togs. I am convinced it is her favourite colour.

I always keep meaning to offer tribute to Dalekalaka. Like ‘Garak never has Bajoran crochet clothes in his store’ and ‘Molly and Keiko bond over Sailor Moon’ and ‘The Doctor is secretly a fan of bad pop music’.

But I keep forgetting. :|

Oh, and when Molly’s been especially well-behaved, Keiko rewards her by putting her hair in Sailor Moon odango and ponytails, or ‘hair loopies’ like Katara. Molly was Katara for Halloween like five years running.

The other Star Trek character who I feel sure would like Sailor Moon is Deanna Troi. It just seems totally up her alley, with the hair and the magic and the true love.

Dear Makeup Department, thou art a bunch of lazy buggers sometimes.

All those detailed prosthetics you created, and then you just draw on some scales with grease pencil like a fucking 5-year-old. 

Sudden involuntary headcanon: that isn’t Marc Alaimo’s makeup. That’s Gul Dukat’s makeup. He draws on more scales because he thinks it makes him look sexier.

Like he needs the help, I know.

I like to think that Odo always put in the little braids in Kira’s hair. The morning before their parting he did his last two braids, and she never undid them - a little bit of Odo to keep with her until he returns from the Link.
